Tuesday 28 May

Text from HJ – she has a new job so her first resignation.

Up early (5.45am) for Patmos scenic tour after landing in Skala:
- Monastery of St John and capital of Hora – on top of the island
- Into the cave where John the Evangelist dictated the Book of Revelation
- Toured the south, then the north
- Morning tea in Skala

Back on board 10.30am. Lucas rescues Tina’s special glass nail file – major surgical operation required with a modified coat hanger!

Lunch as we cruise to Kusadasi through the Straits of Samos (the island of Samos is the birthplace of Pythagoras) – the narrowest point between Greece and Turkey.

On landing at Kusadasi we are bussed to Ephesus which was simply amazing – a must see. We had a guided tour. Sign at one of the shops at the entrance and exit – “Genuine Fake Watches”! I bought an apple tea set.

As we were boarding the ship we meet John (Texas) leaving with his wife, Helen, who has been ill since Sunday evening.

Shower, dinner, crash. Another excellent day with another early start tomorrow.
