4am receive a text from Isaac telling me my licence has arrived. Now all that has to happen is for it to get to Paris!
Smooth sailing on Aegean. Beautiful sun coming into cabin with a cool breeze outside. Lovely breakfast. Tina goes for her luxury pedicure. We discover the buffet lunch which use every day as it allows us to control what we eat. There is just so much lovely food available!
We land at Tourlos, a couple of minutes from the port of Mykonos on the Greek island of Mykonos. We transfer immediately to a small boat which takes us to the island of Delos – the birthplace of Apollo. Our excellent guide takes us around for 2.5 – 3 hours.
The trip back to Mykonos is very choppy. Freezing cold wind whipping through my light cotton shirt (no jersey or coat) and spray flying over us. We are met by David who whips us through to Little Venice and the view of the windmills. I am shivering but a $10 cup of hot tea cheers me up and we wander through the narrow streets with their beautiful white painted buildings. Every building is white with blue trim (it’s a rule) but this is not boring – it is absolutely charming. Tina buys a beautiful hand made scarf – partly to warm herself up but also because it is a beautiful piece which will be reused. Back to the ship by bus (5 minutes), dinner, organise for a very early start tomorrow and lights out. A very successful day.
